Cookies Policy
TechBy Pty Ltd · Sydney, NSW, Australia
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. "Necessary" cookies make the site work (security, load-balancing). Optional cookies remember choices or track behaviour — they need consent under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Classification necessary vs optional
Necessary cookies require no consent; all others are off until consent is given. We do not "cookie-wall" essential services.
3. Cookies we set today
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm, __cfuvid, _cfuvid | Bot-management / load-balancing — distinguishes humans from bots | Necessary · Platform | Session to 30 min | No — required |
cf_clearance (if shown) | Challenge pass — proves anti-spam passed | Necessary | Up to 30 min | No |
__cf_turnstile / _cf_chl_* | Anti-spam widget state | Necessary | Session | No |
| Font cache (no cookie) | Google Fonts loads via cache, not cookies | Functional | — | No |
| Analytics (future, OFF) | Only if deployed with consent gate — not active | Optional | — | Yes — opt-in |
No advertising, cross-site tracking, or social-media cookies.
3.1 Local storage & similar tech
We use localStorage only for UI state (menu state, tab selection). No personal data.
4. Third parties that may set necessary cookies
- Platform provider — anti-spam, edge security. Privacy policy · Cookie policy.
- Email provider — transactional email only; Brevo contactPixelTrackingConsent=false (no per-contact open/click tracking); Resend/Mailtrap/Sender have no per-message tracking flag — we send text-only with domain tracking left disabled, so no open/click tracking.
- CDN (mermaid) — loads script on blog pages; no cookie, CDN may log IP per its policy.
5. What we don't use (no banner needed)
No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or ad-network cookies. "Necessary-only" by default means no intrusive banner. If we add optional analytics later, we will show a consent bar and update this table.
5. Your choices — how to control cookies
- Browser settings: Block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may break anti-spam (forms will ask to retry).
- Anti-spam fallback: If you block challenge cookies, forms may fail — allow the challenge domain or use the contact form.
- Do Not Track: honoured where feasible; not relied on for security cookies.
- Unsubscribe ≠ cookies: newsletter opt-out is via email link.
